Event Staff- Seasonal
Role Description: Thurston County Inclusion is seeking Event Staff. This position will work alongside the Executive Director to lead Thurston County Inclusion (TCI) events and activities.
Location: Ability to attend Thurston County Inclusion’s summer camp events is required. Summer Camp Hours are drafted to be Wednesday-Thursday 12pm-4pm and Friday 9am-1pm, starting the week of July 8th. Summer camp will be at Olympia Regional Learning Academy: 2400 15th Ave SE, Olympia, WA 98501

Tasks & Responsibilities***:

In collaboration with the Executive Director, coordinate summer programming

Aiding in the gathering and transporting of programming materials and supplies from storage facilities.

Handle sensitive youth registration information
-
Engage with parents/caregivers, answer inquiries and handle disciplinary actions involving participants.

Handle the day to day procedures as they relate to the day’s activities

Review and be prepared to implement Emergency Preparedness plan

Think creatively about how inclusion and accessibility can be implemented by TCI
-
Review Board meeting minutes and communicate with the Board of Directors when needed
You will be trained on all tasks & responsibilities. Minimum requirements are listed below.
Minimum Requirements:

16 years or older

Pass a background check
-
Commitment to inclusion of people with intellectual disabilities

Experience working with children and/or young adults
-
Excellent communication skills
-
Demonstrated organizational skills

Proficiency in Google Suite

Willingness to learn & work in a team environment
-
Ability to react quickly and calmly in emergency situations
Hours & Compensation:
This is a part-time position. Pay is $20 per hour, excluding tax deductions (actual hourly pay will be less). The number of hours varies depending on the number of TCI activities. The number of hours per month are listed here:

July - 45 hours
August - 45 hours
